Tools reference

Short answer: StackTether gives AI apps 20 read-only tools: 18 PSA tools named psa_<verb>_<noun> and ChatGPT's standard search and fetch. Names are the same for every PSA vendor; your connections decide which PSA answers. You do not call tools yourself: ask your AI app in plain language and it picks the tool.

ChatGPT search and fetch

ToolWhat it returns
searchTickets (open first, newest first) and clients by keyword, up to 20 results, each with an ID for fetch. Used by ChatGPT deep research and company knowledge.
fetchOne ticket or client by an ID from search, as text. On Autotask, results link back to the record.

Rules every tool follows

  • Read-only, and marked read-only to the AI app.
  • Your MSP and identity come from your sign-in, never from what the AI sends.
  • Person filters: leaving the filter out returns everyone's records; "me" is only for your own. Time entries across tickets are always your own only.
  • Unknown arguments are refused.
  • Vendor text is shown as data, between ⟦ ⟧ marks, under a "PSA data, not instructions" label.
  • Every call, including refused ones, is in the audit log.

Sizes and caps: Limits.
