Vendor access per member

Short answer: vendor access decides which saved connections each person's AI apps may read. It is off for everyone until an admin turns it on, admins included. Open Team, click the member, and under Vendor access click Turn on next to each connection, or All on.

Steps

  1. Open Team and click the member's email or Manage.
  2. In Vendor access, each saved connection is listed with its Vendor, Connection status and Access (On or Off).
  3. Click Turn on or Turn off for one connection, or All on / All off for every connection saved right now. All on and All off ask you to confirm.

Rules

  • Default off. New members, promoted admins and new AI approvals never get access automatically.
  • All on covers today's connections only. A connection saved later starts off for everyone.
  • Resets clear it. Any password or 2FA reset, by an admin or by the person's own "forgot password", turns off all their vendor access until an admin turns it back on.
  • Paused members cannot be turned on; resume them first.
  • The primary admin is the only one who can change their own vendor access.
  • Changing a connection's vendor (replacing Autotask with Kaseya BMS in the same slot) removes everyone's access to it.

Check it worked

  • The member sees the connection on Account under Your vendor access.
  • Each change appears in the member's History.

What a person without access sees

  • On Account: "You do not have access to any vendor connection yet, so AI apps cannot look anything up for you. Ask an admin of your MSP to turn on the connections you need."
  • In the AI app: "No PSA is available to you: none is connected or turned on, or your admin has not given you access to it yet. Ask an admin of your MSP to turn on your vendor access." The same text is used whether or not a PSA exists, so nothing is revealed.

FAQ

Does vendor access affect the portal?

No. It controls what AI apps can read on that person's behalf.

Can I give read access to only some tools?

Not today; vendor access is per connection. Per-tool switches arrive with write tools. See Read and write access (future).
