Connect Microsoft 365 Copilot to StackTether
Short answer: the person who builds your Microsoft 365 agents adds an MCP plugin to a declarative agent (with the Microsoft 365 Agents Toolkit), uses https://app.stacktether.com/api/mcp as the MCP server and chooses OAuth sign-in. Users then sign in to StackTether with 2FA and click Approve. Your MSP's admin must switch on Microsoft 365 Copilot under AI access.
What you need
- Microsoft 365 Copilot licences and permission to publish agents in your tenant. Microsoft offers MCP plugins for declarative agents as a preview feature.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot switched on for your MSP in StackTether.
Steps
- In the Microsoft 365 Agents Toolkit, add an MCP plugin to your declarative agent.
- Enter the connector address as the MCP server and choose OAuth sign-in. StackTether supports dynamic registration and issues a client secret, which Microsoft requires.
- Publish the agent to the users who should have it.
- On first use, each user signs in to StackTether with password and 2FA and clicks Approve on Connect Microsoft 365 Copilot to StackTether?.
Microsoft's documentation: Dynamic client registration for plugins and OAuth for plugins.
Known limits
- Microsoft does not publish an address range specific to these calls, so they are not limited by network. Audit log, call budgets and unusual-activity checks still apply.
- Approvals last 30 days.
