AI apps that work with StackTether

Short answer: any AI app on the list below can connect to StackTether's connector address, https://app.stacktether.com/api/mcp, once an admin has switched it on for your MSP under AI access. Each person then adds the address in their app and approves it on StackTether's consent page with 2FA.

Cloud apps and local apps

  • Cloud apps call StackTether from the AI vendor's servers. Each has its own switch. Claude is limited to Anthropic's published network; ChatGPT calls are checked against OpenAI's published ranges in watch mode. Approvals last 30 days.
  • Local apps run on a tech's own computer and share one switch, labelled "Less restricted: can connect from any network". Approvals last 7 days. Your MSP can set a country list for them. See AI access.

What the AI can do once connected

  • Search and read the PSA data you have vendor access to: tickets, notes, time, clients, contacts, assets, projects, tasks, contracts and schedules. See Tools reference.
  • It cannot change anything. Every tool is read-only.
  • It never gets admin powers: it cannot invite people, change settings or see credentials.
  • Every call is in your MSP's audit log.

Disconnecting

  • Remove the connector in the AI app.
  • An admin can click Disconnect next to any connection under AI access, or turn the app off for one person or the whole MSP.
  • For emergencies, Disconnect all AI apps now on AI access ends every connection in your MSP.
