Connect Claude to StackTether

Short answer: in Claude, open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, paste https://app.stacktether.com/api/mcp and add it. Click Connect, sign in to StackTether with 2FA on the page that opens, and click Approve. Your MSP's admin must have Claude (cloud) switched on under AI access.

What you need

• A Claude plan with custom connectors. Anthropic allows them on every plan; the Free plan allows one custom connector.
• On Claude Team or Enterprise, an organization Owner adds the connector for the organization first; members then connect it for themselves.
• Claude (cloud) switched on for your MSP (admins: AI access, under Cloud apps).
• Vendor access to a PSA connection in StackTether.

Steps

1. In the StackTether portal, copy the Connector address from Connect your AI app on Home.
2. In Claude, open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector.
3. Give it a name such as "StackTether", paste the address and add the connector.
4. Click Connect on the new connector. A StackTether page opens in your browser.
5. Sign in with your password and 2FA code if asked.
6. On Connect Claude (cloud) to StackTether?, check that Sends you back to shows a claude.ai or claude.com address and that Acts as shows you and your MSP. Click Approve.
7. In a chat, turn the StackTether connector on in Claude's tools menu and ask, for example, "Show the five newest tickets for my client Contoso."

Check it worked

• Account in StackTether lists Claude (cloud) under Your connected AI apps.
• The call shows up in the audit log with the app Claude (cloud).

What Claude can do

Use any of StackTether's read-only tools on the PSA data you have access to. It cannot change anything. See Tools reference.

Known limits

• StackTether only accepts Claude's cloud calls from Anthropic's published network, so the switch shows Restricted to Anthropic's network. This covers claude.ai, Claude Desktop and mobile, which all call from Anthropic's cloud.
• Claude Code runs on your own computer and uses the Local apps switch instead. See Local apps.
• Access tokens last 15 minutes and Claude renews them in the background. The approval lasts 30 days; then Claude asks you to approve again.
• Large reviews (for example 100 tickets with several calls each) can reach the per-person call budget. Claude is told how long to wait. See Call budgets.
• Signing in to the StackTether portal, signing out of it or changing networks does not disconnect Claude.

Disconnecting

• In Claude, remove the connector under Settings > Connectors.
• An admin can click Disconnect on your Claude connection under AI access or on your member page.
