Invite your team

Short answer: as an admin, open Team, type the person's email under Invite someone and click Create invite. StackTether emails the invite and also shows a one-time backup link you can send yourself. Everyone joins as a tech; promote someone to admin on their member page after they join.

What you need

  • An admin account on your MSP, signed in with 2FA.
  • The work email address of each person you invite.

Steps

  1. Open Team in the menu, or click Invite member at the top of the page.
  2. Under Invite someone, type the email in Email and click Create invite.
  3. When you see Invite email sent to, the email is on its way. The backup link under it works once, expires in 7 days and is shown only now; use Copy backup link if the email does not arrive.
  4. If you see Email not sent, use Copy link and send the link yourself, for example in your team chat.
  5. The invite appears under Pending invites until the person joins.
  6. After they join, turn on what they need. New members start with no vendor access. See Vendor access.

Resend or revoke an invite

  • Resend sends a new link by email and shows it once as a backup. The old link stops working at once.
  • Revoke cancels the invite. The link stops working.

Make someone an admin

  1. On Team, click the member's email or Manage.
  2. Under Role and status, choose Admin and click Save.

Your MSP's primary admin is emailed about every promotion. Read more in Team and roles.

Check it worked

  • The person appears under Members once they join.
  • Recent admin actions on Team lists the invite and the join.

Limits

  • Up to 50 invites per MSP per day.
  • Up to 20 invite emails per admin per hour.
  • Unused invites expire after 7 days. Closed invites are deleted 90 days after they close.

FAQ

Can I invite someone straight in as an admin?

No. Invites are for techs only, so an invite link that leaks can never create an admin. Promote them after they join.

"That person is already a member of this team."

The address already belongs to a member of your MSP. Find them under Members.

"Today's invite limit was reached."

You reached 50 invites for the day. Try again tomorrow.

The person says the invite never arrived.

Ask them to check junk and quarantine for mail from the stacktether.com domain, or click Resend and send them the backup link yourself.
