Connect Perplexity to StackTether

Short answer: in Perplexity, open Plugins > Add custom, paste https://app.stacktether.com/api/mcp, choose OAuth, then sign in to StackTether with 2FA and click Approve. Your MSP's admin must switch on Perplexity under AI access first; it is off for every MSP until an admin turns it on.

What you need

• A Perplexity Pro, Max or Enterprise plan. Enterprise admins can share one connector with the whole organization.
• Perplexity switched on for your MSP.
• Vendor access to a PSA connection in StackTether.

Steps

1. Copy the Connector address from Connect your AI app on StackTether's Home.
2. In Perplexity, open Plugins > Add custom.
3. Paste the address and choose OAuth as the sign-in method. Perplexity registers itself with StackTether; you do not need a client ID or secret.
4. Sign in to StackTether with your password and 2FA code on the page that opens.
5. On Connect Perplexity to StackTether?, check that Sends you back to shows a perplexity.ai or perplexity.com address, then click Approve.
6. Ask a PSA question, such as "What was the last ticket opened for my client Contoso?"

Check it worked

Account lists Perplexity under Your connected AI apps; calls show the app Perplexity in the audit log.

Known limits

• Perplexity does not publish the network addresses it calls from, so its calls are not limited by network. The audit log, call budgets and unusual-activity checks still apply.
• The approval lasts 30 days.
• If Perplexity's menus have moved, look for custom connectors or plugins in its settings, or contact support.

Disconnecting

Remove the plugin in Perplexity. An admin can also click Disconnect under AI access.

Perplexity asks for a client ID and secret.

It should register itself. Start the connection again; if it still asks, contact support.
